2016 Awards update.

Our annual Australian Packaging Design awards and our Southern Cross Packaging Design Awards have been a much anticipated annual event that our Industry supports with enthusiasm in its innovation and collaboration making the "Awards" a feature of the year.

As we are undertaking a review of the PCA structure and value proposition, we have decided to delay this years (2016) awards until we can announce our new vision and direction. We are not anticipating this will take too long and we are conscious of the fantastic support and interest our Awards have in the Industry. We need your support to help us move through this period of change in the organization and ask for your understanding as we work hard to develop the "new PCA" that will satisfy the "new needs" and aspirations of our industry members.

Australian Packaging Design Awards

In order to broaden the public's understanding of packaging and to encourage excellence and innovation, the PCA conducts a series of Awards which are run annually. An Awards program is held for the packaging and design industry, tertiary design students as well as primary and secondary students.

The Australian Packaging Design Awards (APDA) provide companies in the packaging supply chain with the opportunity to showcase their products, packaging and people on a national stage.

The APDA are open to - brand owners, designers, printers and manufacturers, producers, SME's, foodies, retailers, transport and logistics - in fact anyone involved in the creation of packaging.

Success at the APDA has helped previous winners - attract new clients, reward employees, boost company profile within the industry and help draw the best talent to their organisation.

Southern Cross Packaging Design Awards

The Southern Cross Packaging Design Awards, organised by the Packaging Council of Australia, are aimed at Australian tertiary students studying graphic and industrial design. Our objective is to provide students with a unique experience that can be incorporated into their studies whilst building their knowledge and experience with packaging design all while building a network with the industry.

The Awards are now in their 30th year and we are fortunate to have such committed and loyal support from the industry who have once again worked closely with us to produce an excellent range of briefs to offer the students. Each brief address different issues, materials, products, markets and processes. Students are encouraged to be creative and innovative in their research, design, meeting the requirements of the brief and developing their packaging design solutions.
